The reeds may need attention

The reeds are part of the diffusion system, so their number and condition affect how fragrance moves into the air.

More reeds generally create greater diffusion and a more noticeable scent. Fewer reeds create a softer effect and may also slow the consumption of the liquid.

Turning the reeds can also refresh the fragrance.

For most interiors, flipping them every 5 to 7 days is a useful starting point. More frequent turning does not automatically produce a better result: it can create a temporary burst of fragrance while also increasing liquid consumption.

Older reeds can also become less effective over time. When refilling a diffuser, especially when changing fragrance, fresh reeds are generally the better choice.
